The Mike Weir Foundation In the spring of 2006, Mike and Bricia Weir, their family and Foundation Board took the first step in establishing the Mike Weir Miracle Golf Drive For Kids - a national effort to bring together individuals, sponsors and golf courses under a very simple mission - to be golf’s premier fundraising initiative to support children’s health. One of the featured elements of the initiative is Mike Weir’s attendance at a signature event hosted by a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital each year. With the inaugural event held in London, Ontario, and the 2008 event in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, raised a staggering $1.2 million for a new children’s hospital in the province. Future event destinations include: Halifax, Nova Scotia; Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Toronto, Ontario. Supported by the National Golf Course Owners Association Canada, the Mike Weir Miracle Golf Drive For Kids has generated over $2 million dollars for Children’s Miracle Network, hospital partners, and the Mike Weir Foundation.
